The entry level farmer training program will be held Fridays, Sept. 25 - Nov. 6, 9 AM - Noon. It will cover growing conditions in San Juan County; crop planning; variety selection; soils; weed control and identification principals; and irrigation system establishment. Training will include developing a farm food safety plan and receiving the required certification to sell through the NMPED Approved Supplier Program.

Participants must live in NWNM. The program will be offered through the NMSU Canvas platform. Program may be watched live or as the recorded sessions become available. 

For participants who cannot join the live session, recorded sessions can be viewed and completed on their own schedule. Ten reserved spaces will be available for in-person participation at the SJC Extension Office for those unable to participate online. If you require a scholarship to participate, please email bhopkins@nmsu.edu for additional information.  

Fee and Registration: Online registration available to be paid with a credit card or mailing your check. Fee is $25. 

Please MAIL your check payment to address below. Make checks payable to San Juan County Extension. Checks must be received by Sept. 24.
